Finishing the water tanks... four wheeler issues...

As soon as Jacob got back from his work trip they needed his help to put the roof on the 2nd water tank. They had to wait 10 days for the bolts to come DHL from Australia. They were supposed to come with the water tank kit but they were missing. This happens a lot here!

Meanwhile the kids are playing in the gravel and sand used for mix cement for the water project. :)

I love how she wants to wear a princess dress to play in the dirt and gravel piles!

Unfortunately my carburetor started leaking fuel and right when I needed it for the water project!

Almost two months later and I am still waiting for the rebuild kit to arrive. Hopefully it is up and running soon!

Packages arrive!!

The PNG Post has come to a stop and we have no longer been able to receive letters and packages. So we have asked people to send packages for us to a supply buyer in Australia. From there they are sent on an NTM airplane up to PNG. There are only flights once a month, so we get quite excited when we actually get a package on the plane!! Thank you Anna!!

The kids are getting ready for Winter in North America... so fun!

Goldfish! Wholewheat Goldfish! So yummy!

The box is also fun to play with!

Jacob finally got his Birthday present from his parents after waiting a couple months!

Home Sweet Home!!

Dad was gone for one week. So when he came back we were all very happy to see him. And the kids wanted to play video games with him right away! :)

He was very happy to be home!!

The same day that Dad arrived home we got a couple of packages from Australia! The packages included some mittens and gloves for the kids, to get ready for the winter at home in North America!

And they had to show Dad everything they did while he was away!

Naomi is quite happy that she can climb the tree too!

It is good to be back together as a family again!

Meanwhile back at Home...

Naomi having "white tea" with one of her guesthouse friends, Jensen.

Wonder Woman is here today!

Jonathan and Naomi, aka. Wonder Woman and Superman, took good care of me while Jacob was gone helping to put siding on the rat infested house.

Usually we have a campfire every Saturday night... this time I got to build the fire! We invited Tracey to join us, a guest at the guesthouse.

"Horsey" rides with Uncle Nate! Great Fun!

They are always excited to have horsey rides from Uncle Nate!

Flying in for a Work Trip by Jacob

In July I took another trip into the bush to help some missionaries! Hopefully this time I won't break any bones!

The missionaries house had been invaded by rats and was not livable anymore.

So, we mounted a strike force and after much pain and suffering we recaptured the house and drove off the rats. We didn't suffer any casualties but the rats lost over thirty soldiers.

Then we tore off the woven siding because the rats had no problem scaling the walls.

And we fortified our defenses with slick VERY difficult to climb metal siding. This is Derek a missionary that came who was on the work trip.

I was back on the roof but I was very careful this time.

and so we were there for about a week and we ended up with a rat proof house.

There are so many critters out here in the jungle. This is a hut for a neighbors pig. This guy watched us work and snorted up a storm in his little house. If you look carefully you can see his nose sticking out!

On Sunday we were able to join the local believers in church. Funny how sitting in a church service that you can hardly understand could be such a cool experience.

We made it back to the plane safe and sound and our mission was accomplished.

Building the Second Water Tank

The smaller water tank will hold water waiting to be purified.

The bigger water tank will hold the purified water.

These water tanks will provide us with safe drinking water for our centre.

These water tanks will also provide safe drinking water for those people who live around us as well.
