Elissa came to visit!

Our friend, Elissa, came to visit from Goroka. She is there for three months helping out. Elissa was my assistant cook at Interface for a year! And she went back after her time at Interface and went through all the NTM Training so she could come back to PNG. But due to her health, she was unable to come back until now! Please pray that her body heals so she can come to PNG full time!

Enjoying our visit at a restaurant right on the ocean!

A cat in the restaurant, eats the crumbs and saves them from a lot of sweeping. :)

And another day we went to a restaurant with a pool! Great fun for Jonathan!

And for dad and mom too!

Jonathan loved playing with Elissa!

Saying goodbye to Elissa at the hanger.

Easter!

Easter Sunday, getting ready to enjoy a brunch with everyone!

All done eating, time to get cleaned up and play!

Jonathan's first Easter Egg hunt. :)

Trip to the Island

Jacob had the opportunity to help two missionary families return to their ministries on an island about 80 kms from here. It was quite the adventure in a small boat over open waters.

This is the boat that Jacob and Bill drove to take the two missionary families home. It took 4 1/2 hours one way. And it was a beautiful day for traveling!

They even got to see whales and dolphins!

The beginning of Jonathan's toddler bed...

Jacob is enjoying the time he has each week to work on a toddler bed for Jonathan. He put it together to show me how it would look. But Jonathan wanted to take it apart. :)

Market day!

Every Saturday we go to town to buy fruit and vegetables. Sometimes we run into something very different, like these turtle eggs for sale! They seemed to be a very popular item!

Family photo in the market... I carry Jonathan and Jacob carries everything else. :)

 Dried fish anyone?

 Picking out bananas...

Jonathan loves to pretend to drive when we aren't going anywhere. :)

Jonathan 'helping mom' in the office...

I finally became a Commissioner of Oaths here in Papua New Guinea, which is the same as a notary public in the US and Canada. Now I can help the missionaries here by notarizing important documents for them. Jonathan loves my stamp!

Playing with his 'office' toys. :)

Counting money in our Petty Cash box!

And lots of computer work to be done!

But I always have lots of distractions when Jonathan is playing around. :)

April Happenings...

A cruise ship docked at the wharf here in Wewak, just for the day!

We are thinking of asking if we can jump on board when we are due for a trip home. Then we could have a cheaper method of getting to Australia. :)

Jonathan turned 14 months old in April!!

Jonathan was very excited to be introduced to the Rubix Cube!

Jonathan had a playmate for a few weeks, Jeremy, 4 years old. Jeremy and his family live on an island near here where they are ministering to the tribal people.

Jonathan was happy to show off his dad's four-wheeler to his new friend, Jeremy. :)
