A Trip to Wom Beach

We enjoyed a few hours relaxing at Wom Beach. We don't go too often as we have to go in a larger group. But every so often there is a group going and now that Naomi has outgrown her morning naps, we are able to go!

Naomi loved playing in the larger rocky sand. But she wasn't too sure about the beach sand stuck all over her feet. :)

Our co-worker found a star fish to show us. :)

Naomi was amazed at the water washing over her feet and I couldn't get her to look up at all for the picture!

Improving storage space

Jacob, Bill and Thomas worked on improving the safety and accessibility of the attic of the guest house, the storage space that is used for a lot of missionaries when they are on home assignment. They cut this door in the side of the building to get to it easily and put a new floor down inside. It was hot work but they did a great job!

There are two guest house apartments in this building.. they are well used and loved by so many missionaries when they need a rest from the work in their area.

Improved Playground

Jacob and the guys have been working to get the center ready for our annual conference. One thing they did was to fix up the playground area. And now there is a new tether ball, which had to be tested of course! :)

And the climbing rope has been repaired, Jonathan, or Captain America, likes it! :)

 And so does Naomi!

We even got a new rope of bananas, so soon we will be making lots of banana bread to give to everyone when they arrive! And Jonathan loves to make funny faces at everything!

Outside play...

Naomi was walking down the side walk.. looking so cute! So I called her name so she would turn around and I could take a picture of her. But she didn't like that. She was crying because she wanted to keep walking and not get her picture taken. :)

So she is saying 'please' can I keep walking. :)

And she walked all the way to the big girl swing, where she is content to swing and swing and swing. :)

 Selfie fun! :)

Jonathan is learning how to write his name!

Views from our house...

Looking out from our front porch to the other side of the road, as the sun sets.

Looking out from our back porch... a cruise ship stopped in for the day and Wewak was full of tourists!!

Good times!

We enjoyed having our friends with Samaritan Aviation over for dinner. Jonathan loves having families over with children his age! He and Sophia had fun! Unfortunately Sophie's family had to leave PNG. :(

Playing with clay that Nannie and Poppie sent in Jonathan's birthday box. Fun!

More fun toys in the birthday box!

But Jonathan didn't want Naomi to knock it down!

 Boat fun...

Naomi loves to sit in this while I hang up clothes. And she says 'go, go go', but nothing happens. :)

Jonathan is learning how to read, he is sooo excited!

Superbowl LIVE!

We were able to watch the Superbowl LIVE on Monday Morning at 9:30 am! We were excited and the kids even had Patriots Jerseys, thanks grandma! It was so fun to watch it live in PNG!

And we were happy for parts of the game...

But the ending was very sober for us...

Jonathan was full of questions about the game... our co-workers from PA loved the outcome though. Good job Eagles!

Jonathan is now 5 years old!!

Jonathan got to open a few presents after breakfast since we had a busy day planned! :)

We had our neighbors (an ex-pat couple who run the Wewak wharf) over for Jonathan's Birthday dinner, and he had a small ice cream cake.

Then we made a larger birthday cake and I already had a larger ice cream cake ready to go for the big children's party. :)

We had fun decorating it together!

It was fun to invite all the families on our center and watch Jonathan enjoy his party!

Our house has never been so full of people, so fun!

Rachel, my neighbor, Stephanie, Brandy, me and Christina - my co-workers

Jonathan loved his parties!
