Jacob starts the Dog Kennel project

There are two security dogs on the Port Moresby Centre and they needed a good place to hang out in the day. Jacob had the job planned out and was excited to get going!

Jonathan was happy to have a few hours break from school so he could help dad!

He also built a curb at the back of the car park so people wouldn't accidently hit the fence behind it.

An amazing thing!! A cement truck in PNG! Jacob has always had to mix and pour his own cement. But in the capital of PNG, they have cement mixing companies that deliver cement already mixed!

Naomi was excited to help with the clean up process too!

I also managed to build a few cement boxes around the underground pipes and valves for easy access and durability on the center.

Recess, Homeschool and the Dentist

I was amazed at all the kids could do on this jungle gym! Very creative!

During our 10:00 am recess break, they played and played!

Naomi finished her 100 days of school! It was a amazing... started in August in MA and finished in June in Papua New Guinea!

The dentist office was not a bad place to wait... such an amazing view!

We are very thankful that Jonathan didn't need head gear, but only a retainer! It changes his profile so much! It corrects his jaw and pulls out his lower jaw. So after 1- 1 1/2 years his lower jaw will be caught up with the upper jaw.

Visiting Nate

We were happy to hang out with Uncle Nate once again! And excited to be able to help him on the NTM Centre for a few weeks!!

His job involves a lot of phone calls and paperwork. He represents our mission to the government so he takes care of everyone's PNG Work permits and visas as well as helping with renewal of passports and any other government related questions.

He also gets to meet the NTM plane when it arrives with supplies coming up from Australia.

Sunday night pancakes, yum!

Nate treated Jacob to real maple syrup, homemade from a farm! The kids enjoyed a bit too. 😊

Reading Elephant and Piggie books with Uncle Nate.

Flying to the Capital of PNG

We headed to Port Moresby for almost 4 weeks so that Jacob would work on some Tech Services projects and Jonathan could go to the dentist. Plus we were quite excited to see our brother/uncle Nate who works at the NTM Centre there.

We waited a long time for this flight! When we got to the airport there was a HUGE line due to the morning flight being canceled. We finally got 5 people away from the front of the line and they told us that the plane was full and that we should come back the next morning.

We were quite disappointed. But we gave our tickets to the agent to find out what exactly we needed to do. He said, oh, you are on Business Class so you can check your bags and board the plane! 😊 Then after we had our bags checked, he said, oh sorry, I thought you were on business class but you actually are not... oh well... you can still board the plane. 😊 YEAH!!

We had a lot of leg room!!
