Back to the Cool Mountains & Guesthouse

We started back in the Guesthouse a few days after we arrive back from the capital of PNG. It is so good to be a part of the work here by helping missionaries as they come through for medical or break. Enabling them to continue the work they are doing in Church Planting or Support of Church Planting.

Playing in Superhero costumes at the Guesthouse as resumed! But now Naomi is wearing Jonathan's superman costume!

Living in Nova Scotia at Jacob's grandparents cottage got us very used to having deer heads on our walls.... so much so that we thought this deer head had turned its head! We were used to all the ones in Beaverdam looking straight ahead. That gave us all a good laugh!!

Jacob has been busy fixing dish washers, solar hot water, water leaks, replacing toilets and fixing washing machines. There is lots to do!! And soon we will have a full guesthouse! First time since before Covid started!!

Fun times with Tracey, our co-worker, who ran the guesthouse plus lots of other things while we were gone. We miss her!

A zucchini casserole... I used to make this all the time at Interface.... now it is back again! But this is a tiny one for Naomi, made with goat cheese. She does not handle dairy that well, but loves goat cheese!

A few guests over for dinner at the guesthouse... talking about the New Testament Dedication in one Language Group... Amy even showed us her copy of the Bible that their team had worked on for many years! It is fun to talk with different missionaries that work in different tribal groups and hear their stories of how God is working!

Playing with friends at the Guesthouse.

Learning Chess

Being funny with shoes.

More fun play during summer break while mom works on guesthouse computer work.

Home Again

We really enjoyed our time in POM helping out at the centre there with Nate. But we were also getting excited to step back into our ministry at the guesthouse... and to be finally settled in one place after moving every 6 months or so for the last 1 1/2 years!

The kids LOVE having friends over! They have lots of new friends and old friends coming to hang out because we live in the little guesthouse flat community and the kids are great at making the guests kids feel welcome while they are here for medical for break for a few weeks.

Playing the Floor is Lava... everyone jumped onto the playground!

Our new rat catcher was hard at work!

                                                The army out on patrol!!

Naomi is excited about her big girls bike! She loves to practice!

More hunting for rats, great stuff! More cats, less rats! We got one cat and when we put food out, another cat came... so now we have two cats hunting rats for us!

Slowly we will teach the kids how to be chefs themselves. 😊

So far our two cats have not gotten along so well... but they are learning... here they are sitting on the same sidewalk. 😊
Being funny with shoes and friends!

The kids are getting faster at dishes now!

Finally, my office area is organized... now to figure out how to get the printer to work!!

Some days are very cold and foggy! But we love wearing sweatshirts and socks!

Heading back Home to the Mountains

We attempted to fly one day, but our flight was canceled so we went back to Nates and tried again the next morning...

We had success! We saw our flight come up on the board and we got boarding tickets!!

Random POM Fun - Puzzle, Cake and Braids

Jacob worked on this puzzle while we were in POM in the evenings.

We all worked together and finished it the last night.

Nate loves to birthday bake cakes for friends in his bible study group. And I enjoy helping him when I can.

Still practicing my french braiding.
