Christmas Decorating!

Jonathan is learning the fine art of arranging the Christmas tree branches.

He seems to understand a little about the task at hand.

Decorating the Christmas tree was a lot of fun this year with Jonathan!

I gave the ornaments to Jonathan and he stuffed them into the tree, mostly in one spot. :)

I rearranged a bit, but it was fun to be able to use almost all of our Christmas ornaments this year. Somehow Jonathan was able to put more on the tree then we normally have in the past. :)
And of course we have to have Christmas lights! Thank you Jacob!

The final product... a cozy home decorated for Christmas. We decorated early this year because we wanted to have a lot of time to get into the swing of Christmas in the heat.

This year we didn't have an air conditioner to hang our stockings on but Jacob made a very nice little shelf to put in its place that works great for stockings, cards and speakers. And of course rubix cubes!

Our kitchen just after we went to the market on Saturday.

These are the fruits and vegetables available at Christmas time... bananas, avocado, sour sop, sweet potato and papaya. Oh and we also bought pineapple too!

Jonathan wasn't always happy about the Christmas decorating task... but he is a bit sick with a low grade fever and rash. Hopefully he will get better soon. He gets tired very easily!

Playing around to try to figure out the best place to take our Christmas photo this year. :)

Jacob rushed into the photo and Jonathan wasn't sure what to think. :) I think this view makes our Christmas tree look very small. :)

Jonathan's activities...

Jonathan was very excited when some missionary friends gave us this bike that their kids had outgrown!
The only problem is that his legs are too short. So I have attached a rope to it that I can use to pull him around. He is learning how to steer the bike now. And I'm sure he will be tall enough to pedal in the near future. :)

Playing with a paper airplane that his cousin Jack sent him in a package. :)

Jonathan loves to help his dad fix things...

They are working on the bread maker, something I use 3-4 times a week. I can only eat 100% whole wheat bread, but they don't sell any in PNG. So we make our own bread for sandwiches. So thankful for our bread maker! And that Jacob fixed it!!

American Thanksgiving...

Jonathan and I, the two Americans in our household. :) Jonathan was sick on American thanksgiving... so he was very cuddly. Everyone works here so we had a normal day. Then on Friday Jacob was able to take a 1/2 day off so we could enjoy our delicious Thanksgiving dinner. We enjoyed lots of yummy food with friends!

Take out with friends!

The Stuart family brought take out from one of the local restaurants. We all enjoyed the food and fellowship. I have known Toni Stuart since we were both single at Interface in 1997! It is fun to hang out and work together here in Wewak now with our families!

Jacob, the "vet"

Our friend with another mission has a beautiful dog but he was very sick. So Jacob was able to help by giving him colloidal silver and antibiotics to cure him from Parvo.

He was skin and bones when he was dropped off.

Jacob's latest project...

Jacob is installing an automatic gate opener for our NTM center. This project has been in process for months and months because of lack of time and waiting for parts to come from Australia.

I have never seen someone sweat so much... welding with jeans on in 80% humidity and 110 degrees F... he looked like he just went swimming, his clothes were drenched.

But today he painted it... the last step of the project! Now it is a lot easier for many people to go and come from our center!

The life of a 21 month old!

Jonathan loves to read his Mickey Mouse book! And he loves to watch Mickey Mouse on tv!

He found this cow towel in his room... had a great time even though he was sweating like crazy!

Eating a cookie while learning the alphabet from Big Bird!

Evening snack with Dad. Jonathan is scared of the loud fire works. And every night around snack time our neighbors usually set off fireworks. Fireworks are very popular here... everyone is practicing for New Years Eve a bit early. :)

Jonathan loves going to work with dad, but doesn't get to do it very often. But he wanted to wear Jacob's work hat and work shoes today anyway. :)

Jonathan says 'work', clears off the coffee table, gets his computer, sits down and gets to work. :)

Happy 5 year Anniversary!

We were very excited to celebrate our 5th Anniversary... God is so faithful and gives us so much!

 Jacob brought me flowers!

And we went to the pool... which Jonathan loves!

My Amazing Husband!

After months and months of waiting and trying different baby monitors that weren't reliable, we finally decided to go with a hardwired intercom baby monitor system. It was pretty cheap on ebay Australia! But a lot of work for Jacob... digging, sweating and hauling a very tall ladder around to run the wire from Jonathan's bedroom to the NTM Business office where I work each afternoon, during Jonathan's nap. It works beautifully!! Thank you Jacob!! Now I can count money and do billings in the office with a great peace of mind knowing that Jonathan is definitely sleeping soundly! :)
