Turkey Trot

Ready for the Turkey Trot....

The Kids ran a 2k race and Jonathan came in 6th in his race!

Naomi wanted to do one loop with the kids too. She loved it!

And he came in 3rd in boys 6 years and under bracket!

Last year at this time, Jacob had a broken Femur from his accident in a tribal location. And he was watching from the side lines with crutches!

Ready for the 5k, which consisted of walking and jogging.

It was great to be able to walk/job the 4k. After all the rehab and exercises Jacob did this past year, his leg is strong enough to do it but it still has a little ways to go to get up to its previous strength.

Meanwhile Naomi is playing... and "Uncle Nate" is watching her.

Birthday Party!

Our neighbor, Lucy Mae, turned 2 years old! And Naomi and Jonathan were excited to go to the party!

Her mom made an amazing cake!

Food and Fun

Sneaky, Sneaky... going to hide little notes and verses of encouragement in a friends house while he is away.

My favorite! It is delicious on green apples!

Snack at the playground... muffins, hummus and carrot sticks, yum!

Enjoying a campfire on Saturday night with our good friend, Nate.

A new recipe, black bean hummus.... it is good!

 Jacob is a little skeptical.

But he does try it!

Oven problems... FIXED!!

The oven was not cooperating for awhile, even before we arrived the guesthouse. Eventually it just stopped working. So Jacob and Stanley took it all apart and cleaned the thermal-couple. And it started working for a few weeks.

It worked for Nate while he ran the guesthouse, when we were in Wewak packing up our house. But as soon as we got back and I started using it, it stopped working. The part was on its way. But in the meantime I experimented by using a roaster to bake biscuits and brownies. It worked!!

Finally the oven part arrived!!

And the oven started working better than ever before! It is so nice to have an oven again!!

Will the Crates Go today?

Jacob is wondering if we will get the crates to the wharf the day before we leave or not? We were waiting on paperwork for a week!

Meanwhile, while we were packing, they were playing! and playing and playing!!

A Happy Man- the crates are at the wharf and ready to board the ship!!

And there were a few bulky items that went on the airplane.
