While we were waiting in the NTMA Hanger for our plane to arrive, Jonathan explored... this is the Samaritan Aviation float plane.
Samaritan Aviation does emergency flights to bush locations to take people to the hospital.
This is the NTMA 206 Cessna. This is the plane we were going to fly on to Goroka!
But first the cargo had to be unloaded...
Jonathan and I waited... Jonathan loves to ride on carts!
There was lots of activity on the airstrip as we waited... Air Niugini flew in and out...
A few helicopters landed near us.
Then Jacob helped our pilot, John, refuel the plane before take off.
Family photo before heading out on the plane!
Inside the airplane... the pilot seats..
And the cargo with a seat for Jonathan and I. :)
View as we took off...
Jonathan wasn't sure what was happening when the plane started its engine. He cried and cried and said he was all done. But eventually he settled down and fell asleep.
And when he woke up he was happy!
View of the Sepik River
Arriving in the Highlands... I love the mountains!

Jonathan loves tractors... he says, 'dig, dig, dig' followed by 'hole'. :)
The Michael family lived next door to where the work project was taking place... this is Julia... we were sad to say goodbye!
Jacob helped load up these gavian baskets with stones... they are in the process of building a boat house for the Biem boat.

This is the mechanic shop where Jacob fixes vehicles, changes oil, etc
This is Willi and Bill talking about work... Jacob works with these guys every day.
Jacob is installing a gate opener on the vehicle gate.
He welded the frame to line up perfectly with the gate opener specifications.
And he welded the frame onto the fence.... but didn't think about how to reach behind the frame to install the fasteners
Jonathan, curious about everything!
He loves to watch Dad at work!
But it was a success! He used glue to stick the fastener on his finger and dangle it behind the frame while tightening it with the screwdriver.

Jonathan loved his new phone that Grandma and Grandpa sent... as well as his new shoes and hat!
I loved all the cute clothes that Grandma and Grandpa sent for Jonathan...

Jonathan points all the time... you never know what he is interested in next!
He loves basketball... he says 'hoop' and 'shoot' when he wants us to make a basket. :)
He must have been teething... he wanted to bite my fingers...
Jonathan and Dad looking at the ships out in the ocean... so interesting!
Our co-worker had some extra large boxes that she didn't need anymore... so Jonathan made a house on the back porch. :)
Father and son, outside looking at the moon. It was almost right above our house, so the only way to see it was to lay down on the floor. :)
Jonathan loves to say 'moon' with his lips sticking out! :)
