Christmas Break Fun!

Nate came for the Christmas long weekend from Port Moresby... we are sad to say goodbye this time... We shall miss Nate here in PNG over the next year as he heads home for his Home Assignment soon.

The kids were very excited to have a free day to go to town and swim at the pool! And of course we had to invite their friends!

Morning cuddles... I got this shirt from my brother Nate, because he can't believe he has a sister... Sister! Of all things, I can't believe I have a sister!

Naomi took about a week to put together the Lego set that Grandma and Grandpa sent... she only needed a little help throughout the week!

The school library was open for an hour during school break too! This was also a fun time for the kids!

Fun at the library!

Fresh, amazing looking avocadoes during Christmas break always make dinner prep go so smoothly when we have tacos!

Our rose bush is blooming!

Fiona, our guesthouse worker, making coffee bag bilems to sell at the Christmas pop up shops.

Grandma sent straw glasses! Like I said, Grandma always sends the best glasses!

After Christmas was over I like to enjoy our tree and lights for a week or more. But this time, a strong wind came in and blew down our Christmas tree. So we got it done a little sooner this year. Ready for the new year!

Visiting our Bena Friends and old Interface campus

I have driven this road many many times in my life. But not much in the last 10 years. Interface has now been closed in the Bena area for 10 years. Its hard to believe! But we wanted to head out there to visit our old friends and we wanted to kids to see a village setting and meet them. It is hard to believe that I have been in Papua New Guinea over half my life now!!

Buka, one of the missionaries Bible teachers and his family.

The old Interface Campus has now become a Teachers College. Please pray that it will be accredited soon.

A bit blurry, but the only shot I got of the old Interface Kitchen... Its like walking into the Twilight Zone!

Heading towards the Classroom building. On the right they have built 2 more classroom buildings out of pitpit and bamboo.

To the left of the classroom where we used to have Interface campfires.

Joyce, a language helper, of one of the Bena missionaries. She now works as the secretary for the Teachers College. She named her daughter after the missionary.

Jacob is with Samson (left) who he used to work with on maintenance team. And also on Unepa (right), who used to work security for Interface.

Piku worked in the kitchen with me. She was a close friend, she named her daughter after me. But little Beth is no longer little. She is in 9th grade, 17 years old! I haven't seen her yet but hopefully they will visit soon. Piku is looking for work so I have written a reference for her, so she will come by to pick it up soon.

Christmas!

They get to open one present on Christmas Eve. The excitement of children is so fun!

Naomi wanted Jonathan to open the gift she gave him on Christmas Eve, animal stress balls.

Christmas Morning! We were amazed at how the grandparents sent packages AND they arrived before Christmas! Plus Uncle Nate brought gifts too! And he helped wrap very small items in very large boxes!! 😁

Jacob read the Christmas story and the kids acted it out with the nativity scenes, rock one as well as play set.

We put my parent's box under the tree and we weren't allowed to open it until Christmas! fun!
Brother and Sister

Lego fun began right after the presents were opened. 😀

A new Puzzle from Grandma!

Even Jacob got a puzzle from Grandma and Grandpa!
