Kittens!

We are thankful that we got to experience all the fun of having 4 kittens! So cute!

Whenever Jacob tried to work in the garage, the kittens followed him around! He had to watch where he was walking!

Our cats are normally outside or in the garage. But sometimes they like to sneak in the house. This is black beauty, our mamma cat. Sadly she disappeared when the kittens were 5 weeks old and she never was found.

The 4 little kittens didn't know what to do and neither did we. Most of them were doing well, eating fish and rice. But the littlest one stopped eating and looked very weak.

Jacob shot milk into his mouth but he didn't like that at all! But it did help!

He got very cold so we tried to keep him warm with heating pads and the sun. He also didn't seem to be using the bathroom normally. We got some advice from friends and a vet and he started coming back to life.

Eventually all 4 ate food again!

One of the ladies staying in the guesthouse helped us feed the weakest one, which we named Captain Haddock after the character in the show Tin Tin.

We started giving away our kittens before we went to POM. These 2 guys were left. And so cute, always keeping each other warm.

We gave the last one away to Georgie, who works in the guesthouse.

Earthquake

We had a 7.6 earthquake which really surprised as all as we were sitting in the gym waiting for church to start. Normally we have small earthquakes here and we just wait and it stops. But this one kept going so we all exited the gym and waited for it to stop.

My beef stew was a bit too close to the top of the crock pot so the earthquake made a bit of a mess with it!

The guesthouse pantry was a mess! Worcestershire sauce spilled everywhere! But thankfully no one was hurt!

New rooms & New bed!

Naomi has a very small bedroom so a loft bed gives her room to play.

Jacob had lots of fun designing and building the bed.

This was the bedroom before, not a lot of space.

Testing out the design before finishing and installing it.

Jonathan moved his room around too so he could have more room to play in it.

Recess Fun

Sometimes I go down to see the kids at 10:10 am when they have recess.  Naomi is always happy to see me. Jonathan doesn't notice me.😊

Jonathan playing dodgeball with lots of the elementary kids.

Conference Prep begins...

Jacob has worked many times on our guesthouse oven. And his hard work has paid off. It is working perfectly now!!

Making lasagna for Central Area Conference - 130 people, We froze lasagna and bread for later.

I made a "little" sauce for the lasagna 😊

This is the same pot that I used to use almost every day at the Interface kitchen!

Fiona made a lot of French sticks for future garlic bread

Cows and Fall?

This almost looks like fall back home in North America. 😊And school is starting!

Just outside the NTM Centre fence there is a ranch where they raise cows for beef. It is very entertaining for our guests to watch the cows. A big hit for the kids especially!
