Recess, Homeschool and the Dentist

I was amazed at all the kids could do on this jungle gym! Very creative!

During our 10:00 am recess break, they played and played!

Naomi finished her 100 days of school! It was a amazing... started in August in MA and finished in June in Papua New Guinea!

The dentist office was not a bad place to wait... such an amazing view!

We are very thankful that Jonathan didn't need head gear, but only a retainer! It changes his profile so much! It corrects his jaw and pulls out his lower jaw. So after 1- 1 1/2 years his lower jaw will be caught up with the upper jaw.

Visiting Nate

We were happy to hang out with Uncle Nate once again! And excited to be able to help him on the NTM Centre for a few weeks!!

His job involves a lot of phone calls and paperwork. He represents our mission to the government so he takes care of everyone's PNG Work permits and visas as well as helping with renewal of passports and any other government related questions.

He also gets to meet the NTM plane when it arrives with supplies coming up from Australia.

Sunday night pancakes, yum!

Nate treated Jacob to real maple syrup, homemade from a farm! The kids enjoyed a bit too. 😊

Reading Elephant and Piggie books with Uncle Nate.

Flying to the Capital of PNG

We headed to Port Moresby for almost 4 weeks so that Jacob would work on some Tech Services projects and Jonathan could go to the dentist. Plus we were quite excited to see our brother/uncle Nate who works at the NTM Centre there.

We waited a long time for this flight! When we got to the airport there was a HUGE line due to the morning flight being canceled. We finally got 5 people away from the front of the line and they told us that the plane was full and that we should come back the next morning.

We were quite disappointed. But we gave our tickets to the agent to find out what exactly we needed to do. He said, oh, you are on Business Class so you can check your bags and board the plane! 😊 Then after we had our bags checked, he said, oh sorry, I thought you were on business class but you actually are not... oh well... you can still board the plane. 😊 YEAH!!

We had a lot of leg room!!

Jacob's Projects

Jacob has been hard at work running around on his four-wheeler fixing this and building that... planning to fix this and drawing plans to build that. πŸ˜€All while getting our house set up and unpacked! The kids love to ride with him when they can!

He tore out this corner cupboard which was a nest for breeding cockroaches and soon he will put new counter top in the kitchen!

He is working on a new idea of turning this old metal into a counter top! We have one section in already. And I love it! You can see how one section is old and one is newly shined up.

Looks pretty cool!

It has been a hard few weeks of unpacking and adjusting so we are thankful to have moved in and unpacked! And thankful for all Jacob has been able to do to get our house fixed up! Lights, shower heads, counter tops and bathroom fans are just a few things he has done in our house so far.

Here is a bookshelf Jacob built for the High School Library. As soon as school is over a few citizen workers will be building these bookcases and renovating the library over the summer. And Jacob is overseeing this project. But first we are heading to the capital city of PNG to work on projects there at the NTM centre. Pray for us as we adjust to the heat again and Jacob focuses on getting a few things built and fixed while we finish homeschool.

Back to the Warm Weather!

A beautiful fancy dress yet Naomi still wanted to go out in the mud and swing! Love it!

Happy to swing again in PNG, no mittens, no gloves or long pants!

Found a place for our hammock

The kids loved this sunscreen that we found in storage! Doubles as face paint!

A new bike for Naomi!

Going out to market in the rain... we are dedicated veggie and fruit lovers!

Enjoying a day of rest and encouragement for Lapilo Day!

Dedication of the new helicopter!

Guavas! Naomi realized that she LOVES guavas!!
