Guesthouse and Food!

Fresh whole wheat and gluten free bread! Yum!

Kumu anyone? Cooked in coconut milk.

Nate found some dried Kiwi for us in town, so good! Fresh kiwi is not something we can find here. And so we are always quite excited when town has dried kiwi!

Blueberry Mug Cake!

Kiso, the guesthouse gardener and driver.

These flowers seeds came from Nate's mom in the US. They have done very well here in PNG!

Fiona helps us out at the guesthouse with cooking and cleaning.

A new stepping stone path to the guesthouse apartment that we renovated.

The flower vines are taking over!

The Superheros have set up their house on the couch. They can sleep or they can play video games. :)

Fiona, Rumbi and Georgie. Naomi loves to watch them work and sometimes help out too!

Whole wheat, white and oat tortillas as well as tortilla chips.

Visiting Uncle Nate

Naomi was sad because she took this new toy of hers all the way down the hill to show Uncle Nate at the store where he works, and he wasn't there.

But then when the kids wanted to show him their new capes, he was at home! :)

Learning how to cut Alan's hair.

Enjoying Crunchy Quinoa Patties with Avocado Smash for brunch at Nates, yum!!

Heading back home... the capes are the most fun when they blow in the wind while running. :)

Wewak Friends Visiting!

Waiting patiently on the porch swing for Libby to come, a friend from Wewak she hadn't seen in 8 months!

Libby and Naomi had a great time together!

Libby's brother and sisters, Karis, Jael, and Miles... Jonathan was so excited to see them as well!

Building a sand volcano!

Tessa and Libby (sisters) and Naomi loved the sandbox!

Attempting to get a picture of the three of us...

Do a little gardening... cleaning up.

And of course Naomi wanted to dig too. :)

Abundance of Blessings in a Box!

Our church family in Brisbane managed to get a package through to us with lots and lots of almond butter and healthy snack bars! So thankful and blown away by their kindness and generosity!!

We just heard that our church sent this box on Feb 14th! So thankful that it made it here finally!

Jacob's projects...

Jacob taught Jonathan how to make this wood rounded in his science class!

so that they could build a new slide for the one that was destroyed on the playground.

Naomi approves of the new slide that replaced the broken slide.

Installing some new windows in a few buildings. Jacob uses his four-wheeler a lot here in Goroka!

This ceiling was very moldy and not good for the health of people living here. It took a while to tear down and rebuild by himself but he enjoyed the project.
This is the finished ceiling of one of our guest homes.

Jacob and Kiso also fixed up the entry way to the guesthouse and repainted it.

Soon, they will repaint the shoe shelve as well. But we really love how the hallway turned out. We weren't sure at first because when Jacob got "relaxed green" paint from the store, it turned out blue. :)

Happy 37th Birthday to Jacob!

Making the crust for Jacob's cheesecake! Yum!

They LOVED licking the yumminess off!
 Making gluten free lasagna noodles

Ready to put the lasagna together!

I also made a zucchini lasagna, yum! The lasagnas were even better with Nate's homemade ricotta cheese and fresh basil!

Coffee Cheese cake sweetened with agave, delicious! A fantastic birthday for Jacob!
