Working in the Business office

I now work 1 - 1 1/2 hours in the business office, most week days. Sien taught me how everything works in the office. It was easy to learn since I worked in the finance office at Interface for many years. So a lot of it was the same, just a different region. I am happy that I can be of help to the missionaries in this region by counting money. :)

Jonathan likes to help me too. :)

But usually he just plays in his pack n play or crawls around on the rug. But normally I go to the office while Jonathan is taking his morning nap. It works out very nicely. :)

Jonathan turns 9 months old!

On Jonathan's 9 month birthday we are celebrating many things... Jonathan turns 9 months! And we have our own furniture! So now when we take Jonathan's pictures each month he will be on the same couch every time! Over the last 9 months we have moved so much but it is good to be in one place for a change. :)

Jonathan is enjoying play time on the rug!

 Time for lunch :)

Jonathan loves the coffee table. And he loves to take everything on it and put it on the ground. :)
He is a big boy now... two bottom teeth!

Relaxing in the living room on a cool day!

"Look mom, I can stand up!"

 Playing with the letter magnets!

Hanging out with mom on his birthday!

Jonathan is very excited because Dad is getting his bath water ready. :)

Bath time is over and now it is time to read a bed time story in the PJs. Jonathan is adjusting to the heat very well. Now he gets cold at night, but he keeps kicking off his blanket so he wears PJs to bed and stays nice and warm. :)

The family!!

Our New Generator has arrived!!

Before the generator arrived the guys were busy getting ready to dig all the ditches for all the wires and pipes, etc. First they had to cut some sidewalks. Jacob was happy to have his four-wheeler here so he could use the wench to haul the side walk pieces away. By the way, this is Nate, one of the interns that is helping out for a few months.

Jacob and Kelly removing the clothes line so that the work can begin.

Mike and Brian from Friends in Action came to help switch out the generators.

The Old Generator.

Out with the Old...

And in with the new...

Everyone was gathered to watch the huge event!

The new generator is in place, the roof is back on the generator shed and now the digging begins...

This is what the center looked like before the digging began.

After the digging began, it looked like a HUGE mole came in and invaded!

But there were many pipes to be laid.

And then they had to fill in all the ditches again!

Nate, Willi and Troy - three of the hard workers

The guys were filling in the ditches as they watched a storm come across the ocean.

The PNG Power company sent an electrician out to help hook up the wiring to town power.

The ITEC team that came from the US to install the Generator along with the PNG Power Electricians. We are so thankful for everyone's work!

Troy's birthday!

We had Troy and Nate, interns for a few months, over for dinner to celebrate Troy's birthday.

I made a chocolate chip cookies ice cream cake. Jacob made the ice cream for me, yum! It was fun to have them over, our first guests in our new home! It feels more like home here now that we are finally unpacked and able to have people over for meals. :)

Moving to Wewak! - part 1

After sorting through all our crates and belongings in Goroka we headed back to Wewak with a few of our things via New Tribes Mission Aviation.
...
NTMA really knows how to pack the stuff into the plane... when we got to Wewak I was amazed at how much stuff came out of the plane.... things for so many different people in the Wewak area... there was even a chest freezer in this pile of stuff and our electric piano!

 Unloading in Wewak.

They needed two vans in order to get all the cargo and people back to the Wewak Center. It is nice to have a few of our things. There are a few more things coming on a flight in the next couple of weeks.. And then the rest will come via ship... our four crates still sit at the Goroka NTM Center waiting for the shipping company to start up again.
