Happy Birthday Jacob!

 

We normally have a campfire every Saturday evening. So we invited a few more of Jacob's friends to join us for dessert and to celebrate his birthday. It was a great time of hanging out!

Then today we had a restful day at home celebrating some more as a family!

Strawberry ice cream pie! One of Jacob's favorites... ice cream made of cashews, strawberries and dates pureed together!

Our kids are old enough to play games with us!!

Jacob and the guys have been trying different methods of finishing the walls.

Redoing walls in one of our guest houses... this seems to be the best method. Looking good!

School Break and New Instruments

School break has started and the kids want to learn how to play instruments this break! We broke out the clarinet that grandma gave us... it is fun to play again, as I played in grade school and high school!

 

It is a slow learning process, but they are having fun! And I get to play the piano along with them!

Jonathan was able to rent a flute from the school. And he is obsessed! 

 We also get to prepare for Jacob's birthday! We made pie crust... apple pie and 2 strawberry ice cream pies! Yum!! With the leftover pie crust we made "number" cookies, which I invented when I was a kid. :)

Jonathan Graduated from 6th Grade!

 

We are very proud of Jonathan as he has completed his elementary school years here at NCA!

There were 7 people in his 6th grade class this year. Unfortunately more than half the class is going on Home Assignment or moving elsewhere. Thankfully, Jonathan has 3 classmates returning in the new school year who are good friends of his!

To celebrate their accomplishment we got to go with his class on a field trip to celebrate with swimming and lunch at a local hotel.

Open House at school this week!

Everyone built their own airplanes and flew them.

School Open house and Naomi's 2nd Grade year completed!

Naomi and her classmate, Gideon, built this bridge out of materials they found around the house that could hold 2 lbs. They had a great time!

The Elementary classes all got together to sing a couple songs they are learning in music class.

Naomi's 2nd and 3rd grade classes also shared a little of what they have learned this year.

 Finding a cozy corner in the house to do her "Brain Quest" a workbook for those students between 2nd and 3rd grades. She loves doing it!

My mom and sister got to hang out pretty close to Mother's Day and my mom's birthday - fun times!

I'm really thankful to have the privilege of being their mom!

We even got to go to a restaurant for a late Mothers day celebration. Jonathan was confused as to why there were so many green peppers in his Beef Dish.
